The Gujarat State Judicial Service Rules, 2005’,invites Online Applications, from eligible candidates, for filling up approximately 97 Regular & 32 Ad-hoc Vacancies (existing & future), for selection, by way of Competitive Examinations, for the Cadre of Civil Judges, in the Pay-Scale of Rs. 27,700 – 770 – 33,090 – 930 – 40,530 – 1080 – 44,850 +Allowances, as admissible under the Rules.

Vacancies Details:
1. Civil Judges : No.of posts - (Regular - 97 and Temporary - 32) - Pay-Scale of Rs. 27,700 – 770 – 33,090 – 930 – 40,530 – 1080 – 44,850 +Allowances, as admissible under the Rules.

Qualifications :
(i) A prospective Candidate must possess a Degree in Law from a University recognized by law in India & -
    - must be practicing as an Advocate in Courts of Civil and / or Criminal Jurisdiction on the last date fixed for submission of  Online Application.

    "Candidates, who have passed the Degree in Law from the academic year 2009-2010 and onwards, must have also passed the All India Bar Examination, in order to be considered as eligible for being termed as a Practicing Advocate.
                                                              OR
    - must be working in the Courts or other Allied Departments on the last date fixed for receipt of applications. [See instruction at Item No.11(7)] 
 Note: "Candidates working in the Courts or other Allied Departments, should be holding LL.B. Degree of 03 Years' Course or 05  Years' Course from the recognized University.

(ii) Must possess Certificate(s), certifying to be possessing Basic Knowledge of Computer Application/Operation, issued by a Government Institute or other recognized Institute, as set out by the Government of Gujarat in General Administrative Department Resolution No. PRCH-102005-1532-K, dated 30/09/2006 and Resolution No.CRR-10-2007-120320-G.5 dated 13/08/2008.   

Age Limit:
General Category must not have crossed the age of 35 years and others i.e. in case of candidates belonging to Scheduled Castes or Scheduled Tribes or Socially & Educationally Backward Classes, declared as such by the Government of Gujarat, as well as orthopedically Disabled  Persons  &  Ex-Servicemen, must not have completed 38 years of age.

However, relaxation of 05 years i.e. up to 40 years in the Upper age limit, shall  be  granted  to  the  eligible employees working in the Courts or other Allied Departments. No further relaxation in Upper age limit, shall be granted to them, under any circumstances. 

Fees and Mode of Payment :
1. Scheduled Castes, Scheduled Tribes, Socially & Educationally Backward Classes or Physically Disabled Persons & Ex-servicemen  shall be required to pay Application Fees of Rs.400/-(plus Bank Charges).
2. All other Candidates shall be required to pay fees of Rs.800/-(plus Bank Charges).

The Candidates making payment of such Fees, shall remit the same in Current Bank Account No. 30725811785 with the State Bank of India, High Court Complex  Branch,  Ahmedabad,  held  in  the  name  of Registrar General, High Court of Gujarat, Sola, Ahmedabad, through any of the Core Banking Service Branches of the State Bank of India using the 'Cash  Voucher’ in the special 'Format',  appended  to  this Advertisement, from 23/05/2017 to 22/06/2017 during Bank working Days and Hours.

Filling up Academic Performance Indicators (APIs) score for Direct Recruitment of teachers (Associate professors / Professors and equivalent and above posts.)

(1)    Candidate should read carefully the API scoring system before filling up the API score in the prescribed format.
(2)    Candidates who fulfil the minimum API score required will be considered eligible for direct recruitment as Associate Professor and Professor.
A minimum score as stipulated in the Academic Performance Indicator (API) based on ICAR regulation/UGC regulation on minimum qualifications for appointment of teachers and other academic staff in Universities and Colleges and measures for the maintenance of standards in higher education-2010.
(3)    Candidate shall have to furnish details of activities in the three categories as the case may be. (see the following table)

(6)    Candidate shall mention the score/marks (self-assessment) in each column of the category, based on the truthful data and the evidences / certificates and other supporting documents authorised by competent authority
(7)    This PBAS format document is only valid; PBAS in any other format will not be accepted. All formats are in tables and hence you may add rows in the PBAS format at relevant places while filling up.
(8)    Candidates should furnish only one copy of the API score calculations and summary (Table 3 to Table 13 ) of the same along with application form
(9)    The data for Category I, II and III are provided only for the Assessment period
(10)    Activities in addition to what has been mentioned may also be     provided in the PBAS Performa under any other. Explain these in     quantitative terms
(11)    Applicants who were on maternity leave during the assessment period may also clearly mention same in the format for category I and Category II along with copy of leave approved letter. The screening committee shall decide  on points with approval competent authority of University
(12)    For publications, provide only the first page. If you claim as the corresponding author, it should be mentioned clearly in the publications itself. Else, the claim will not be considered
(13)    Every page of PBAS should be signed by the applicant
